Last year (yes, a while ago) I received this EP from End of Silence. I mailed this CD to one of the Metalrage editors but he never reviewed it so here it finally is (sorry guys).
End of Silence is a band of friends from the area of Eindhoven, who walk together and rock together. Since September 2001 End of Silence became a serious band which involves writing songs and creating their own sound. Most band members have played in other hardcore or punkrock bands; End of Silence decided to put both styles together into a fluent mix of catching, energetic songs.
This punk rock / hardcore formation released their EP last year and the band consists out of 5 members. The EP has got six energetic punk rock songs with clear hardcore influences. The first song is a short intro song with the original name of the band. After that there are 5 full songs and like I always say; It is great to listen to a CD or EP that comes out of the Netherlands. Everybody can speak English but you can clearly hear Dutch influences in the vocals.
Two vocals are used on this EP and they both have got their own part in the band; one for the louder and one for the clear vocals.A minor point is that the volume of the vocals should be a little bit louder. Right now the instruments sometimes kill the vocals, which is a shame. Although I’m not always into punk rock there is something in this EP that makes my body move.
Overall a great effort, keep up the work. The album is nice to have for punkrock fans. You can order it at their website for 5 euro.
The production of the EP is not that great but good enough for a demo.
